Mobile precast plants save time and money, where residential housing or other building types are to be built. Staying on top of the schedule is easier, when everything from production and transportation to the installation of the elements is in your own hands and happening near one another. After project completion, the mobile plant can be transferred to another project site or sold forward.

When to opt for a mobile precast plant?

Mobile precast plant is a great option for, for example, an EPC contractor with a one-off project for a fixed time duration. If the next projects in 3-5 years’ time are more uncertain or not located within an economic distance, it’s not feasible to invest in a centralized precast plant and burden the investment to just one project. With a mobile plant you can amortize capex only for used value: you can resell the equipment after the project and allocate to the project only the value that has been consumed as part of the project.

Remote construction sites, mountainous regions, severe weather and poor road conditions are another great fit for a mobile precast plant. In these cases, logistical costs would be high if the closest stationery precast plant was located far away. Not to mention the time it would take to transport the elements, CO2 emissions caused by the transportation, and the risks associated with it in the form of quality issues as slabs may be damaged. 

With a mobile precast plant, you are not depending on others delivering precast concrete elements as you will have your own, industrial manufacturing close to the construction site. Thus, it offers time and money savings, especially if raw material is available in the close vicinity.

The only real difference is its minimal foundations to the ground. We have innovated a modular, relocatable foundation to reduce costs when the equipment and foundations need to be re-packaged and transported away after use.  

Once the project is finished, you can move the equipment to a new project in a different city or a country. Elematic can refurbish and repair the equipment before they are transported and installed at the next site. The other option is to sell the equipment to another company needing precast plant for a project. Elematic equipment have a long lifetime and resale value is the best in the industry.
