Service Business Development & Offering Manager

The Service Business Development & Offering Manager will ensure the growth and evolution of the company’s service offerings through strategic development, market analysis, and innovation. This role involves identifying new business opportunities and creating customer-focused service solutions. Additionally, the manager will oversee Service Offering Management, ensuring that our portfolio of services is competitive, scalable, and aligned with customer needs and the company’s strategic objectives. We expect this individual to lead the adoption and development of AI within the Service business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Identify and evaluate new service business opportunities in existing and new markets.
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase recurring revenue from services (e.g., maintenance, upgrades, digital services, training).
    • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to support go-to-market activities and customer engagement.
    • Drive the identification, development and adoption of generative AI in Service business to delight customers, speed up processes, reduce costs and release capacity for more value adding activities.
  • Offering Management:
    • Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the service offering portfolio (from ideation to retirement).
    • Define, document, and maintain clear service packages, pricing models, value propositions, and commercial terms.
    • Analyze customer feedback, market trends, and competitor offerings to refine and optimize the service portfolio.
    • Drive internal readiness across sales, operations, and delivery teams to ensure consistent implementation of the offerings.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Project and Service Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Project Execution to align service concepts with product lifecycle and customer needs.
    • Provide input for product development from a serviceability and lifecycle support perspective.
    • Support Sales teams with training, offering documentation, and customized proposals when needed.
  • Customer & Market Focus:
    • Engage with key customers to understand their evolving service needs and gather insights for offering development.
    • Participate in industry events, customer meetings, and market research to stay ahead of trends and opportunities.
  • Performance Tracking:
    • Monitor and report on the financial and operational performance of the service business and key offerings.
    • Identify improvement areas and lead corrective or growth initiatives based on KPIs and strategic goals.

About you

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Management, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in service business development, product/offering management, or technical sales.
  • Experience in industrial, engineering, or capital equipment industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of service business models (e.g., aftermarket, digital services, maintenance contracts).
  • Demonstrated, measurable achievements in the domain of Artificial Intelligence to drive business success in past roles. Having completed formal AI training and achieving related certifications is considered a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and drive commercial outcomes.
  • A strong command of both written and spoken English is essential. Additionally, proficiency in other languages, particularly Finnish, is highly advantageous.
