History
1950's: Machinery from Toijala FinlandIt all started in 1959 when Toijalan Teräsvalmiste (TTV) began building machinery for the precast concrete industry.
1960's: Abroad with Finn Elematic Baugeräte GmbH
International sales were one of TTV"s active pursuits from the very beginning. By 1969, this led to the founding of a daughter company Finn Elematic Baugeräte GmbH close to Stuttgart Germany, from where it moved to Nidda.
1970's: The first ELEMATIC extruder
The first ELEMATIC extruder was built in the early 70´s. The first unit was sold to Finnish cement and building materials manufacturer Partek.
In 1973 Partek acquired TTV and Partek Heavy Metal Industry with 400 employees was formed. Finn-Elematic GmbH continued to be the outpost for marketing of ELEMATIC products in Germany and in other German-speaking countries.
1980's: Era of Elematic Engineering and Toijala Works
In 1981 engineering and manufacturing were divided into two separate business units, which later developed into two limited liability companies Elematic Engineering Oy (1988) and Toijala Works Oy (1990).
In 1984 Elematic Engineering Oy acquired a Canadian hollow-core machine manufacturer Dy-Core Systems Inc (DC).
1990's: Period of strong growth with PCE Engineering
In 1992 the two building material industry leaders Partek and Lohja choose to cooperate in precast. Therefore their precast manufacturing technology units formed Partek Concrete Engineering.
In 1996 Partek Concrete Engineering continued expanding in Germany by acquiring the business operations of Germany's Roth Machinenbau GmbH. The Roth name is especially well known for slipformers. Together with the former operations in Nidda they formed PCE Roth GmbH.
1996 the name of the parent company was officially changed to PCE Engineering Oy Ab (PCE).
End of the 90's was truly a period of strong growth:
1997 Finnish Mecakone Oy 's business operations became part of PCE.
1998 US subsidiary, PCE Elematic, Inc was founded
1999 Finnish Rimera Oy, the manufacturer of molds and beds, was added to PCE.
2000's: Elematic Oy Ab the one-stop-supplier at your service
In 2000 a separate Customer Service Center was created to meet the after-sale support needs of a growing number of clients.
The one-stop-portfolio was enlarged in 2001, when PCE got the technology to create lightweight non load-bearing partition walls. This happened via acquisition of ACOTEC Ltd´s business operations.
To unify all operations as the one-stop-supplier in 2003 PCE took back the old company name "Elematic" , officially Elematic Oy Ab.
In 2006 several Finnish investors acquired Elematic. Later that year Elematic Group acquired X-Tec Oy, a Finnish hollow-core slab machinery manufacturer. In 2007 Finnish investor group led by private equity investor Sentica Partners sold Elematic Group to a private equity fund managed by Pamplona Capital Management. The management of Elematic maintains their shareholding of the company.
