Elematic provides precast concrete producers and their owners with technology products and services, existing and to be developed, which will improve the customers’ possibilities in succeeding in his own business.
History
1960´s - foundation of ELEMATIC It all started in 1959 when Toijalan Teräsvalmiste (TTV) began building machinery for the precast concrete industry. International sales were one of TTV"s active pursuits from the very beginning. By 1969, this led to the founding of a German sister company Finn Elematic Baugeräte GmbH in Nidda, outside of Frankfurt.
1970´s - time of growth The first ELEMATIC extruder was built in the early 70´s and sold to Partek - a Finnish cement and building materials manufacturer. Soon thereafter - in 1973 - Partek decided to acquire TTV, forming Partek Heavy Metal Industry with 400 employees. Finn-Elematic GmbH, continued to be the outpost for marketing of ELEMATIC products in Germany and in other German-speaking countries.
1980´s - engineering and manufacturing separates In 1981, in order to achieve more flexibility, manufacturing and engineering were separated into own business units: Toijala Workshop for building machines and Elematic Engineering (EE) for engineering, marketing and selling. The separation became more formal as two limited liability companies Elematic Engineering Oy (1988) and Toijala Works Oy (1990) were formed. The relationship between the units has remained very close regardless of the changes in the structures and ownerships of the companies. In 1984 Dy-Core Systems Inc (DC), a Canadian hollow-core machine manufacturer, was acquired by Elematic Engineering Oy
1990´s - integration, fusions and birth of PCE Engineering While Elematic Engineering was growing in size and industry expertise, the Finnish company Lohja Parma Engineering Oy (LPE) had been developing a parallel capability. LPE was owned by two major component manufacturers. It also had a subsidiary, Induco GmbH, in Nidda Germany. In 1992, during a period of transition in Finnish building material industry, the two industry leaders Partek and Lohja decided to restructure their building material businesses. As a part of the process they choose to cooperate in precast, uniting both their precast manufacturing plants and technology units to form Partek Concrete Engineering. In 1996 Partek Concrete Engineering acquired the business operations of Germany"s Roth Machinenbau GmbH and combined it with existing operations in Nidda to form PCE Roth GmbH. The Roth name is especially well known for slipformers, with over thirty years of experience in their creation. In 1996 the name of the parent company was officially changed to PCE Engineering Oy Ab (PCE).
More acquisitions were made during this period of strong growth: 1997 Finnish Mecakone Oy became part of PCE. 1998 saw the establishment of a US subsidiary, PCE Elematic, Inc. 1999 Finnish Rimera Oy, the manufacturer of molds and beds, was added to PCE.
2000´s - PCE grows and unifies to become the "One Stop Supplier" In 2000 a separate Customer Service Center was created to meet the after-sale support needs of a growing number of clients. The technology to create light weight, non-load-bearing partition walls - the only missing part of the one stop portfolio - became part of PCE after acquisition of ACOTEC Ltd´s business operations in November 2001.
In 2003, to unify all operations as the one-stop-supplier, PCE takes back the old company name "Elematic", now as Elematic Oy Ab. Although the three-letter name had become world-renowned in the industry, the meaning of the letters had faded in the course of the years. It became clear that the time had come to change the name, and there was no difficulty to find it: Elematic had been in active use as the trade name for machines all these years. Now that the company name and the product name is one and the same, it all is well compacted and solid - as high-performance concrete always should be.
2006 - Big changes in the ownership of Elematic Elematic Oy Ab, formerly known as a Consolis Group Company, is now owned by several Finnish investors, Consolis SAS retaining a minority stake in the business. The acquisition by Sentica Partners Oy, Finnish Industry Investment Ltd, Mutual Pension Insurance Company Etera and the management of Elematic Group gives the best possible opportunities for long-term development and innovations. The management's commitment to the company as shareholders shows that their confidence in Elematic's future is strong and above all 100% dedication to the development of the business is guaranteed. The goal of the new arrangement is to serve customers even better and thus strengthen the position of being the world leading technology provider to precast concrete producers. In November 2006 Elematic Group acquires X-Tec Oy, a Finnish hollow-core slab machinery manufacturer. The acquisition supports Elematic's growth strategy.
2007 -Sentica Partners sells Elematic to Pamplona Capital Finnish investor group, led by private equity investor Sentica Partners sells Elematic Group to a private equity fund managed by Pamplona Capital Management. The management of Elematic maintains their shareholding of the company. Along the new owner Elematic has excellent opportunities to continue to growth and further expand its market presence, especially in the Russian speaking countries
